The Liverpool Empire theatre staged this Christmas pantomime production of Puss in Boots on 11 January 1965, starring Frankie Vaughan and Jimmy Tarbuck.
Frankie Vaughan was a singer born into a Jewish family in Liverpool in 1928. Jimmy Tarbuck is a famous comedian well known for hosting game shows. He was born in Liverpool in 1940 and went to primary school with John Lennon.
Pantomimes are typically performed over the Christmas period and have been a traditional family outing since the 19th century.
