Note: List of Curios No 91: Sandalwood figure of Dzam-padha in a gilt charm box [50.31.63]. Netuk orderly tells me that Dzam-padha is always fashioned out of sandalwood (tsen-den). The Dalai Lama and the Lamen Kempo tell me that Dzam-padha is the god that brings wealth. Curator's note: This was one of several gifts given to Bell by the 13th Dalai Lama on 18th June 1912 in Kalimpong, at a farewell interview, before the 13th Dalai Lama and his entourage left on their return journey home to Tibet.
