Description: Small, stout lizard with large, blunt head, short limbs and long,tapering tail, there are scattered spines on the sides of the neck and conspicuous eardrums. Back is pale to reddish-brown, usually with a pale stripe running from the head to the base of the tail, the body is covered in a pattern of dark lines giving it a netted appearance. Length up to 26 cm.
