Film Poster, 'Letter to Brezhnev'

About this object

Letter To Brezhnev, 1985
Two Kirkby girls embark on a night of fun and frolics that changes one life forever in this gritty, romantic comedy. Brookside writer Frank Clarke and director Chris Bernard’s first feature film, an unflinching portrayal of an ‘80s Liverpool ravaged by high unemployment and low expectations, also carries a defiant and uplifting message of hope and love.
Throughout the film, the waterfront and river loom large - a symbol of the transient nature of the city and the people and stories that pass through it.
