Film Poster, 'The Fruit Machine'

About this object

Writer Frank Clarke’s follow-up to Letter to Brezhnev is another tale of
friendship, longing and adventure. Two gay teen friends leave behind the
harsh reality of everyday Liverpool life when entering the fantasy world
of transvestite nightclub, The Fruit Machine. There they witness a murder
and fearing for their lives, escape the city and its shackles. Will they and
their friendship survive outside of their hometown? Clarke followed this
film with Blonde Fist in 1991, starring sister Margi Clarke once more.
