Butterfly Kiss

About this object

Butterfly Kiss, 1995
A road movie with a difference – combining a deranged serial killer and a doomed lesbian love story - Butterfly Kiss was the feature film debut of director Michael Winterbottom and screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce. The film was one of the first to be co-produced and co-funded through Liverpool’s Moving Image Development Agency (MIDA) whose aim was to put ‘Liverpool behind the camera’.
Dramatic scenes were filmed at Formby Pinewoods and Formby Beach.
