About this object

An image of musicians on stage being watched by two children at the Festival in Granby Fields in 1988. A large banner can be seen above the stage opposing apartheid in South Africa. Other banners show support and solidarity for Namibia and Nicaragua. Both countries were involved in armed conflicts in this year. The SWAPO party of Namibia were fighting for independence from South Africa and Nicaragua was ravaged by a long running civil war.
