About this object

Stephen Shakeshaft was a photographer at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo. He recalls frequent phone calls to the News Desk informing them, 'We are going to have a demo!". There seemed to be one every week, he remembered, "I was always amazed how quickly a group of people could arrive equipped with banners and gather as one.”

This protest outside of the Magistrates' Court, Dale Street, was against racism, imperialism and police attacks on the Black community.
