Description: Bowl with rounded sides, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze famille vert enamels. On the outside, two bands, one with flowers and symbols, the other with horses and dragons rising from the sea-waves with clouds above. Inside is a blue wave medallion and a scroll with large flowers in colour and green foliage in the yellow ground. A brocade border. Under the base, a large red peony.

On the backs of the horses is a square package, an allusion to the white horse (bai-ma), which carried the Buddhist scriptures on its back to China.
