About this object

Jonelle is the name used for own-brand merchandise made by the department store John Lewis. The brand name was first introduced in 1937. In Liverpool, where this dress was probably purchased, the John Lewis’s branch traded under its original name, George Henry Lee & Co. Ltd, until 2002 when it reverted to the main John Lewis name.
