Bi-centenary booklet

About this object

This booklet was produced in 1966 to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of the Liverpool Pilotage Service. There was also a grand ball at the Adelphi Hotel attended by serving and retired pilots and their partners. Pilot Terry Crowe was working on a ship just prior to the event and to save time boarded the ship in his dinner suit. The ship’s master remarked that Liverpool pilots were the smartest he had ever seen!
