George Gallagher was born in Liverpool, Lancashire in 1895, the son of John and Sarah Gallagher. He was single and resided at 65 Highgate Street, Liverpool.
He served as a fireman in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania, and was killed when she was sunk. He was aged 20 years.
As his body was never recovered and identified after the disaster, he has no known grave, so he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.
