Rainford’s Roots volunteers measure and record a trench during excavations on the site of a late 16th century pottery dump
The Museum of Liverpool's archaeology department has worked on numerous community archaeology projects across Merseyside and beyond.
As part of the Museum of Liverpool’s curatorial team we look after the archaeological objects within the collections and specialise in the archaeology of the north west. Our community archaeology work has contributed significantly to the understanding of the region's past whilst providing an exciting means for local people to be directly involved in exploring their past.
Our staff are skilled in excavation, building recording, desk-based research, community outreach and collections management. We are excited to be able to help local people get involved with their archaeology.
