Hosted by National Museums Liverpool, the award-winning events arm of National Museums Liverpool, have announced key new appointments to their growing team.
Adam Keegan joins the team as Head of Events Operations, having built up a range of experience in Liverpool’s hospitality industry over a number of years. Adam has previously worked for well-known food and drink venues including Maray, Neon Jamon and Lucky Penny Group.
Adam said: “I’m pleased to be joining National Museums Liverpool, giving me the opportunity to work in some of our city’s most Iconic venues. I’ve been visiting Liverpool’s museums and galleries since I was a child and have fond memories of walking down London Road to visit World Museum.
“I am keen to continue the success of Hosted by National Museums Liverpool through working collaboratively with teams across NML, developing and empowering his own team and championing the hospitality and events sector as a career of choice.”
Pete Inman joins the Hosted by NML team as Events Manager. Pete has over 40 years of experience in the hospitality sector, working in a range of fields – from major sporting and leisure events to cooking for royalty and Prime Ministers alike.
Pete said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team in my new role as Events Manager, where I will develop a range of events across NML’s seven museums and galleries as well as enhancing the organisations outside catering offer across the Liverpool City Region. This is a really fantastic opportunity to deliver outstanding hospitality in some of the most iconic buildings in the country.”
The appointments come as Hosted by National Museums Liverpool celebrate a record year following a run of high-profile corporate events and filming projects – creating £1.3m in revenue and national recognition for its team.
It is the first time the Hosted by NML team has exceeded £1m in annual revenues, with the 2022/23 financial year seeing 38 per cent growth in events income, compared to pre-pandemic levels (2018/19).
Gareth Nuttall, Head of Sales for Hosted by NML said: “It’s fantastic to be making these appointments at such a pivotal point in our journey. We have just had our busiest year for venue hire, event management and inhouse catering. The team hosted 453 events and more than 28000 guests across its seven venues - from a major event for United Utilities and bespoke hospitality for Boodles jewellers, to a maritime evening with celebrity hosts and Sky Arts' Landscape Artist of the Year production. Other filming location bookings included Amazon, the BBC, ITV and Paramount+.”
“Our stunning venues are used creatively for corporate and private events - from a small boardroom with a history dating back to 1901, to a 1,000-capacity gallery in a museum that is home to incredible artefacts. We’ve refined the way we deliver event services for our customers and have big plans for the year ahead.”
Hosted by NML has won a series of industry awards this year, including Business Events Venue of the Year for Museum of Liverpool and Tourism Young Person of the Year for Neve Sutton, in the Liverpool City Region tourism awards. It has also now received national recognition at the Conference & Events Awards 2023 for the achievements of its events team.
Income generated from NML’s events business goes back into supporting the work of the museums and galleries, which attracted nearly 2.5 million visitors last year.
