How connected was the Viking World? | The big question

The Cuerdale, Silverdale and Huxley Hoards are three important Viking hoards of silver which were discovered in the North West of England. Each hoard is part of a different museum’s collection, but they have been brought together for the first time for the Treasure: History Unearthed exhibition. This has provided the Museum of Liverpool, the University Liverpool and Lancashire Museums Service with an opportunity to find out more about the story of these hoards - and what they can tell us about the movements of Vikings around the world.
Find out more on this page when the exhibition opens on 13 September 2025.
