The walls of the Walker Art Gallery have always been alive with colour, but never more so since the work of a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from EMTAS (Ethnic Minority Travellers Achievement Association Service) has gone on display.
Inspired by the Aubrey Williams Atlantic Fire exhibition, World, Water and Life runs until 11 April 2010.
For the past three months the young people have explored themes from the natural world prevalent in Williams’ vibrant paintings. Their research has included handling and exploring aquatic life, shells, bugs, snails and scorpions from the collections at World Museum under the guidance of an artist and museum staff.
