With the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival coming up this weekend, here's a blog from Helen Baxter our Restaurant Manager at the Maritime Dining Rooms:'This week at the Maritime Dining Rooms we've been getting ourselves ready for the Food and Drink Festival at Sefton Park this weekend. Our team of chefs have been putting the finishing touches to our range of homemade condiments for you to sample and stock up on. A variety of jars and bottles of all shapes and sizes are finally packed and prepared full of our favourite sauces and chutneys. Though we may need to pack a brolly and some wellies too judging by the weather forecast. You'll know what I mean if you've ever had that mouth-watering moment in your favourite restaurant and wished that they would share their closely guarded recipes with you so you could recreate their meals at home. Well this weekend we will be launching our new range of condiments from our current menu for you to take home and enjoy. Made from locally sourced ingredients and using recipes passed down from generations, we've hand-picked our range from customers favourites including brown sauce, piccalilli, apple sauce, chutney, black pudding and raisin beer roasted ham. I'm not sure I'll be able to get our Head Chef to share the exact recipes as they are still a closely guarded secret but you are invited to join us in the Red Zone and put your taste buds to the test trying to guess what ingredients he's used. If you've a family of foodies like me it is also a great opportunity to stock up your larder before Christmas and possibly tick a few people off your Christmas list too.'
