Gemma Dolan, the Store Development Manager at National Museums Liverpool, looks after a huge range of different objects from our varied collections, from large vehicles to works of art. Her expertise has recently been called upon, as she explains: "Last week I spent a morning with Hope University MA student Evgeniya Petrukhina, who is learning about effective store management and how National Museums Liverpool cares for the objects in its stores. This included a practical session on object handling, packing and cleaning. In the picture you can see Evgeniya and Dr Antoinette McKane practising their new object dusting skills. This session is one of a series of tours, seminars and workshops that National Museums Liverpool contributes to Liverpool Hope University's new MA in Museum and Heritage Studies. This semester students are learning how National Museums Liverpool develops, documents and cares for its collections. Next semester students will learn how National Museums Liverpool creates socially-relevant exhibitions, engages communities, generates income and builds audiences. Further information on this MA programme is on the Liverpool Hope University website."
