Studio Visit: LR Vandy
Join us on a visit to Chatham where we speak to LR Vandy inside her beautiful waterfront studio.
In February of this year we travelled down to Kent to visit the old ropery at Chatham Historic Dockyard. They have been making rope on this site for over 400 years, but only recently has LR Vandy decided to set up her studio there after a memorable visit.
We caught up with her as she was in the midst of creating her monumental new public artwork Dancing in Time: The Ties that Bind us. She took us on a tour to see how the rope is made, as well as explaining a little bit about her creative process and the ideas behind this new work.
