H Blairman and Sons

Established furniture and art dealer founded in 1884.

H. Blairman & Sons Ltd was established in 1884, and in 2013 remains a family-run business.

Building on its established reputation as a dealer in eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century furniture, Blairman's has developed, over the past thirty years or so, a strong interest in beautifully designed, documented furniture and works of art from the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

In the 1930s Philip Blairman (1896-1972), pioneered an appreciation of the English Regency period, and this too is an area in which Blairman's continues to specialise.

Between1987 and 1988 National Museums Liverpool and Blairman's worked to mount the exhibition 'George Bullock: Cabinet-Maker' and produce the accompanying catalogue. Since the exhibition, the firm has maintained its interest in this remarkable designer and cabinet maker.
