Flower Fairies: Saturday studio

Saturday Studio is an informal session for 12-16 year olds who enjoy being creative. So why not come along and explore some new art techniques with our galleries team?

No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.

We have different activities each time, as follows:

• 22 April: Discover the magical world of Cicely Barker. Taking inspiration from folktales and fey people we will use natural objects and materials to create fantastical creatures. 
• 17 June: Discover an enchanted world of fantasy creatures. Taking inspiration from the Flower Fairies exhibition we will use air dry clay to design and sculpt fantastical creatures.  
• 30 September: A painting workshop with a twist! In this inventive mixed media session, learn how to use ordinary household ingredients and materials to produce beautiful painting techniques and textures. We will show you how to create paintings in a similar style to the illustrations in our exhibition of Cicely Mary Barker’s work.

Tickets are released two weeks in advance to book below. Your ticket for entry into the exhibition on the day is included with the ticket for this workshop.
