Beyond the label: dock house dig, homes beneath our feet

During 2021 and 2022 a community excavation took place at Piermaster's Green, Royal Albert Dock. A team of archaeologists and volunteers excavated the homes of dock masters and their families which were damaged during the Liverpool Blitz of the Second World War.

In this talk Vanessa Oakden, Curator of Regional Archaeology will unveil what secrets the excavation revealed, talk about some special visitors to the site, dive into the oral histories, and get hands on with some of the finds!
