Future Voices: open mic
No current dates available

We invite young people aged 16-24 years old to come and perform at the Museum of Liverpool for our Future Voices open mic sessions. Use our atrium as a safe space for you to perform including music, poetry, comedy, spoken words, drama, storytelling and anything creative.
We welcome individuals and groups. Please contact youngpeople@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk for more information.
These sessions are supported by Gals Who Gig - a project facilitated by Scrapyard Studios CIC, creating female-led music lineups and gigs across the Liverpool city region. The project launched on International Women’s Day 2023 in conjunction with WIMIN festival, following a survey undertaken by Scrapyard Studios in late 2022, which revealed huge gender inequalities in the Liverpool music industry.
Gals Who Gig aims to bridge these gender gaps in the Liverpool music industry through establishing and fostering an inclusive, accommodating and supportive community for women to grow and develop as industry professionals. Gals Who Gig aims to hold space for not only female performers, but female managers, photographers and sound engineers too, rejecting a long held history of lack of such opportunities for women. The project is led by Nadeen Kemp (Sleeping Soul music) and Izzy Parker as part of the wider Scrapyard Studios programme.
