An afternoon of talks by Dave Clay, author of 'A Liverpool Black History 100 Years (1919 – 2019)' and Howard Gayle, Liverpool Football Club's first Black player.

Born in Liverpool 8, Dave Clay has a wide range of experience in the field of race relations including Merseyside Community Relations Council, both as a Fieldworker and Public Education Officer. The first Chairperson of the L8 Law Centre and former chair of Charles Wotton Centre and LARCCA, he is currently Editor of the Granby Toxteth Review and author of numerous publications on the Liverpool Black Experience, including 10 Years On 1981-19191 - The Anatomy of a Riot (1981).

Joining him will be Howard Gayle,  Liverpool FC's first black footballer in 1977. He not only blazed a trail for Black footballers at Liverpool Football Club, but Howard also continues to work on many levels to ensure children and young people in the city get a good grounding to succeed in the game, as well as valuable life skills.
