This week the National Centre for Teaching Black History is inviting you to take part in a series of workshops exploring how we currently teach Black History and approaches we can take in the future.

Join us for this for this workshop with Akil Morgan, Liverpool-based community artist and Director of Capoeria for All CIC. Capoeira is a powerful Afro-Brazilian art-form combining dance, martial arts and music and manifesting in colonial Brazil, as many Africans took art, culture and ritual with them to the Americas, using it as a tool of resistance and rebellion.

Akil's workshop will use discussion, movement, music and creative games to present and explore the values defined within the Black Arts tradition of learning.

Sessions will take place in the Global Cities Theatre in Museum of Liverpool. They will be approximately 45 minutes long and will run from 11.00am.
