New to Liverpool museum meetup (18-25)
No current dates available

Museum meetups are relaxed creative sessions at the Museum of Liverpool, designed for young adults to meet socially and take part in creative activities together. Whether you're coming alone or bringing a friend, you will be welcomed into a supportive space where you can chat, create, and enjoy being at the museum. No judgement, no bad ideas, no prior experience necessary - just grab a ticket, turn up and get making!
Led by Nicole Marnell, this session is especially for young people who are new to the city, and provides a chance to swap tips, connect over shared experiences, and feel more at home.
Tickets are £5 per person with £3 concession tickets available, and can be booked online in advance.
Each month's meetup has a different theme.
And we have a winner! Rosette making
4 October, 11am-12.30pm
Reward a loved one (or yourself) for lovely gestures and grand achievements, with a hand-embroidered rosette.
- Do you have a friend who makes a killer tikka masala?
- Do you love that your mum always takes the bins out?
- Is your dog the most gorgeous boy?
Come along to our rosette embroidery session to make a custom award for that person (or pooch) that brightens up your life.
Tote bag decorating
8 November, 11am-12.30pm
Embrace a bit of slow living this autumn with our tote bag decorating workshop, where you can decorate a bag inspired by National Museums Liverpool's incredible collections. As part of the session, you’ll be encouraged to take a slower look at objects on display, paying close attention to textures, colours and shapes and using this to help inspire the your own artwork
We’ve got embroidery threads, we’ve got felt, we’ve got paint pens, we’ve got sequins and we’ve got pom poms - let’s go bananas and make some brilliant bags and beautiful bonds.
Ho ho haberdashery! Christmas decoration making
13 December, 11am-12.30pm
Come on down to the Museum of Liverpool this December to make a festive felt character to hang upon your tree, mantelpiece or rear-view mirror.
Zines do come true
17 January, 11am-12.30pm
April is the perfect moment to look forward with optimism as the days get lighter and brighter, with an attitude of gratitude and love in our hearts. In this workshop, you’ll be guided through zine-making and let loose to fill it with drawing, painting, collage, and/or Nicole's favourite medium (pom poms and googly eyes).
Your zine could be about the things you’re looking forward to this year, a new skill you’re learning, a hobby, the things you’re grateful for in your life - the only limit is your imagination and the tape it’ll take to stick these pages together.
Happy Pal-entine's Day! Lino print card making
7 February, 2-3.30pm
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romantic love! Show your appreciation for the pals, gals, golden-boys and little peachy legends in your life with our lino print card making workshop. Here you can print a series of cards, ready to write lovely messages on and send out to loved one.
Please note that this month's session will take place at the later time of 2pm-3:30pm.
