Shielded In The Community was a disabled-led project run in partnership with DaDa and funded by Liverpool City Council.
Mandy Redvers-Rowe is a disabled writer based in Liverpool. She worked with producer Harriet Warnock and Assistant Producer Robyn Bowyer. Together they delivered this project with a wonderful team of disabled and neurodiverse artists: Amina Atiq, Malik Lidgett and Elli Purse.
All of them had to shield in 2020 and 2021 but, although for many the restrictions have now been lifted, there are still a significant number of people who have to continue to shield.
This project gathered artistic responses to shielding from Disabled people in the North-West.
At this special launch event at the Museum of Liverpool, you will have the opportunity to find out more from some of the artists involved.
