‘When I was little’ is a free activity for children aged between 3 to 7 and their families, where you can discover museum objects together and share stories and memories using a special activity backpack.

The activity is available to families, children, grandparents and those living with dementia. Take a walk around the Museum of Liverpool with other families, accompanied by a 'When I was little' bag pack and a member of our team.

You will journey together through Liverpool’s history as you explore memories of older relatives and family lives. Children can be inspired by what they’ve seen and talked about and get creative in a ‘When I was little’ album, included in a backpack filled with objects and toys. You can take the album away with you as a keepsake of the day.

The activity is available on the following times

  • 1.45pm on 9 August
  • 11am on 23 August
  • 1.45pm on 1 November
  • 11am on 21 February 2025

Tickets for this activity are free and can be booked below.

Please note that the Museum of Liverpool may close on some days over the May half term holiday due to industrial action. Please check our visit us page and social media for regular updates and the latest venue information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
