Write at the Museum: Turner: Always Contemporary
No current dates available

Write at the Museum is a monthly creative writing group for young people aged 16-24, where young writers can express themselves and explore their creative voices. Taking inspiration from our collections at National Museums Liverpool, we explore important topics that mean something to you. We are a relaxed group, who support each other and provide a safe space to discuss our ideas and creative work.
This is not a taught session, but is a facilitated space to explore ideas with a group, using the collections and their stories as a source of inspiration and discussion. We also provide opportunities through our Future Voices programme to share your work in an open mic setting. We meet on Saturdays once a month from 1-3:30pm. So, if you’re a young writer or a creative of any kind, come along and write at the museum!
This month's theme is: Turner: Always Contemporary?
Join the group as we take inspiration from our new exhibition “Turner: Always Contemporary”. We know Turner as the brilliant romantic artist who painted landscapes, but with Turner there is always more - his voice is as relevant today as it was in the 19th century. His work documented the first effects of climate change, explored immigration and class as well as consider the role of the artist as a commentator. These are issues that still affect us today and this session will explore these themes and help you to discover your creative voice.
