Children's Day is a Japanese national holiday which takes place annually on May 5. It is a day set aside to respect children's personalities and to celebrate their happiness. There really is something for everyone, so come along and explore!

11am - 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 4pm
Join us in the skyline gallery for Origami and Colouring. You can even have a go at our chopstick challenge!

11am and 12noon
There will be a martial arts demonstration, Kendo, in the Treasure House theatre. Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art, descended from kenjutsu (swordsmanship), that uses bamboo swords (shinai) as well as protective armour (bōgu).

1.30pm and 3pm
Come along to listen to a wonderful Koto and Enka performance with Sumie and Lee in our Treasure House Theatre. The Koto is the Japanese Harp, the national instrument of the country and Enka is Japanese traditional singing.
