We all have a favourite robotic character in Doctor Who from villains to fan favourites like 'K9'. In Doctor Who episode' The Waters of Mars' set in 2059, we see a remote controlled robot called 'Gadget'. Gadget looks similar to NASA’s Curiosity Rover, which is exploring Mars right now! It has collected samples of dusty Martian soil for scientists to study back here on Earth.

Part of our Doctor Who: Worlds of Wonder Exhibition, Lego Robot Rovers is a fantastic, fun activity that teaches children about simple programming concepts and the challenges involved in space exploration, by experiencing what it's like operating a remote planetary explorer like NASA's Mars Curiosity rover.

This is an inclusive event, suitable for SEND families with children ages 7+. To ensure all available workshop spaces are used, we have extended availability to the general public. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Event takes place on Level 5, Skyline gallery. This is on the top floor of our museum and our lifts and stairs can be busy especially during weekends, please allow plenty of time to get to the top floor and please ask a member of staff for assistance if needed.

For any accessibility needs please email families@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk.
