SRD 2023: Walk of Remembrance

We will mark SRD 2023 on the 23 August with a Walk of Remembrance through Liverpool City Centre, taking pauses at landmarks of historic significance. 

The walk will begin at Williamson Square with an introduction from Andrew Lynch before moving through the city with stops at the Bluecoat and Liverpool One’s Old Dock. The procession will be accompanied by a series of performances by Capoiera for All, Tavia Panton, and Katumba. 

After the walk there with be a Libation ceremony at Canning Dock, which is a commemorative ritual, honouring and remembering the ancestors who have gone before us. Please note the 2023 Libation ceremony at Canning Dock is in a different location than in previous years.

Capoiera for All at Williamson Square from 12.25 pm

Tavia Panton at the Bluecoat at 1 pm

Katumba at Liverpool ONE's Old Dock (by the steps) at 1.40 pm 

Libation ceremony at Canning Dock at 2.30pm
