About this object

Bag-shaped jar with recurved rim. Handmade polished red surface. Worn in places with chips missing from the rim.

Purchased at the MacGregor sale, Sotheby's 1922 (lot 1696). Auction catalogue written by Prof. Percy Newberry notes that this is from Abydos.
