About this object

Dome shaped cake of blue pigment (frit) manufactured by Flaxman Spurrell in replication of ancient Egyptian frit gathered from Tell el Amarna. Broken into four peices. Previously mounted on card with a handwritten label on the back, "Frit made to imitate the ancient frit by F. C. J. Spurrell.
