Rosalind Frances Nash

Donor of antiquities; relative of Florence Nightingale

Mrs Rosalind Nash (neé Shore-Smith) was the eldest daughter of William Shore Smith, cousin of Florence Nightingale. When Florence Nightingale was 29 she visited Egypt in the winter of 1849-50 with Charles and Celina Bracebridge. On her journey on the Nile she purchased small antiquities such as amulets and shabti funerary figures. Rosalind Nash inherited the collection and donated it to Liverpool Museum in 1949 via Salisbury Museum.
