About this object

A framed photograph, taken by Johnston and Hoffman of the interior of the Sikkim delegation's reception tent used during the Delhi Durbar of 1911. The tent is decorated with applique motifs in a Tibetan style. The interior is lavishly decorated with tiger skin rugs, Tibetan carpets, a large wooden altar with ritual objects, thangka, ceiling banners, European style chairs and at least two cham dance costumes complete with masks.
