  • Note
Curator's note: the descriptions and page translations found in the inscriptions field have been provided by Dr Karma Phuntsho, during cataloguing for, 'The Tibetan-Mongolian Rare Books and Manuscripts (TMRBM) project', University of Cambridge. Other copies can be found in the Tibetan Book Resource Center, TBRC: W1923. Manuscripts 103a-d were kept together by Bell and only one pair of book covers and ties (50.31.103e and f) is associated with 50.31.103a-d. Bell records in his book, 'Religion of Tibet', 'I have two copies of this work. The Dalai Lama gave me one; the Pan-chen Rim-po-che gave me the other. The copy from the Dalai Lama is on thick, good paper, and very clearly printed'. A paper label in Bell's writing is associated with this pecha (although is stored with 50.31.102a), the text reads, 'A12 Gendün Truppa // A14 Sönam Gyatso // A19 Butön Rimpoche (but other copy is correctly indexed) // Barmiak 14 Story of cuckoo'. And in biro pen 'A18 Gyarab Salwe Melong'. Written by Emma Martin
