A small watercolour showing looting and fighting on Chakpori and in Lhasa, there is Tibetan commentary of the events of the 13th day of the second month 1959 written at the base of the watercolour.

    Curator's note: This watercolour is thought to have been painted at the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre, Hillside, Darjeeling. Painted on the 30th day of the 6th month, unclear if this is Tibetan or western calendar date. The group of paintings was purchased from The Tibet Society for £2.0.0. They were given to the Tibet Society by Lois Lang-Sims who was given them when in India in 1962. Written by Emma Martin.
